Hawaiian’s Bassendean and Hawaiian’s Forrestfield will come alive over the school holidays with a range of robot activities, held in partnership with Barking Gecko Theatre.

The two centres will present Build and Battle Robotic Workshops, running from Tuesday 23 April to Sunday 28 April (excluding ANZAC Day).

Designed to ignite curiosity and allow kids to develop their engineering skills, workshop participants will  also design and build a LEGO compatible Edison Robot battle suit, then test their designs in an epic robot battle. Children will learn how robots understand and navigate the world around them, be introduced to programmatic thinking and the foundations of computer programming.

Hawaiian’s General Manager, Shopping Centres Suburban Portfolio, Scott Greenwood said partnering with Barking Gecko Theatre allows Hawaiian to activate a generous community experience by providing creative learning programs inspired by the company’s theatre productions.

“We’re pleased that our partnership can continue to provide educational and fun activities that inspire the young people in our local communities.”

The Build and Battle Robotic Workshop sessions are as follows:

Tuesday 23 April – Saturday 27 April (excluding Thursday)
• 10am – 10:45am
• 11am – 11:45am
• 12pm – 12:45pm

Sunday 28 April:
