Parmelia House has been recognised at the Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards.

The prestigious award for Best Refurbishment or Renovation in WA acknowledges the recent works completed at Parmelia House last year.

The $5.9 million project involved a total refurbishment to the basement, ground and level one, creating a range of new and innovative spaces to suit the 21st century workplace.

The overall project was made up of many different stages involving the demolition of existing areas to make space for a new, industry leading end of trip facility and tenant only gym, staged refurbishment of the main building lobby including café and deck area, lift lobby, entrance airlock, as well as integrating three floors of high end co-working office space called FLUX, to the basement, ground and first floor levels.

All works were carried out in closely occupied and operational circumstances with existing retail tenancies in the basement arcade and conference and commercial facilities to the ground floor and surrounds kept live at all times.

FLUX, a joint venture between Hawaiian and Spacecubed, is a 1,400sqm co-working office space supporting innovation and creativity, featuring a mix of resident desks, offices, event spaces and meeting rooms.
