Hawaiian’s Parmelia House has been transformed as part of the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF).

Launched last night, the CTRL+ALT+CREATE event has illuminated the front lobby area with a showcase of more than 20 unique fashion garments exploring themes of connectivity between traditional artisanship and hyper-modern fashion directions.

The works feature innovative mediums including grown crystals, poured silicon, LED lights, magnetic filings, fabric grown from kombucha and heat-sensitive fabrics that change colour.

The comprehensive five-day event runs until 13 September and includes a pop-up classroom, design studio, 3D print jewellery workshop, and industry panel talks featuring prominent Perth fashion experts, centred on themes of changing fashion technology, retail (ecommerce) and education.

CTRL+ALT+CREATE is part of the TPFF Cultural Program and is presented by South Metropolitan TAFE in collaboration with Hawaiian, FLUX and SOLDER.
