What quirky buildings, innovative businesses, or people do you walk past every day that make a positive impact on our community?

The Social Impact Festival 2017 is on now and runs until Friday, 28th July 2017.  The festival is all about developing cutting edge knowledge and ideas, celebrating initiatives, creating positive change and generating insights that address complex social problems.

This year’s theme is Home, Place and Land and is being run by UWA and the Centre for Social Impact.

Hawaiian is very proud to support the festival in association with Parmelia House and FLUX, sponsoring an Impact Gallery Hub inside the Parmelia House lobby.

The Impact Gallery Hub is a space to meet, chat and relax in between attending other festival activities scheduled throughout the CBD.  Parmelia House is one of four venues to host the art installation “Small Voices Louder”, created by Perth artist Alex Desebrock, involving a yellow megaphone playing children’s voices talking about their unique perspectives on the world.

Another exclusive event will take place on Tuesday at 11am, at an Impact Lab: Land event held at The Platform, level 3, 256 St Georges Terrace.  A 10 minute meditation will be hosted by Chiu Chi Wen in association with Bluebody Spiritual Centre, concentrating on our connection to land.

The Social Impact Festival aligns closely with Hawaiian’s values, we are committed to making a difference to the people of WA through our community activities.  Giving back to the community has always been a focus, and we continue to innovate how this is weaved throughout the company’s business model.

With an evolving portfolio across the commercial, retail, hospitality and land development markets, Hawaiian, a privately owned WA based property group, has grown its presence in Western Australia since establishing in 1993.

From the first acquisition of the Parmelia Hilton, over 20 years ago, today we own and manage eight shopping centres across the Perth metro area, three St Georges Terrace office towers, hospitality locations including the world renowned Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa and investment into land projects Australia wide.

A combination of philanthropy, sponsorship, activities and partnered giving is testament to Hawaiian’s commitment to give back to the community. Much of this program revolves around sharing experiences with our valued stakeholders.

Please take a moment to watch the attached video sharing some of our achievements, which is also being shown at Parmelia House as part of the festival installation.
